AGL operates the country’s largest electricity generation portfolio and provides gas, electricity, solar PV and related products and services to more than 3.6 million customer accounts across Australia.

Overview

The brief is to create a series of videos that would engage and educate staff and encourage them to play their part by embracing transformation. This includes staff being accountable and taking responsibility with IT Security across the organisation.

Information security is a dry topic that is hard to communicate. Our breakthrough was when we found a link with folk tales, which as we know, are stories passed down through generations by people from all walks of life, in every society, across the globe as a means of conveying moral messages in a simple, yet entertaining way.

We created a series of seven animated videos that each deliver an IT Security key message in a fast, easy-to-understand, and memorable style.

Each scenario always ends on a positive note, portraying the main character as the winner. This use of metaphors means the messages don’t need to be heavy-handed and employees won’t feel targeted.

Reports back from AGL suggest that the videos are among the most successful internal comms messages ever produced for the company.
