02 Digital Marketing Intern

Applications closing soon.

Who we’re looking for

We are looking for a digital intern who is keen to learn more about digital marketing. Here at Step Change, our internship will teach you more in three months than what you will learn at uni in three years. You also get the opportunity to work with digital executives and strategists and gain real experience.

We’re looking for someone to help support the day-to-day tasks of the Digital team. It’s fast-paced, so you’ll need to be quick on your feet, able to switch from task to task, and be super-organised!

Step Change exists to inspire step changes in business and in people. We are in the business of helping challenger businesses outsmart their competitors. We work directly with business owners and executive leaders across strategy, marketing, and leadership.

We have 100+ clients every year, and they range from Sony Pictures to startups, from maternity wards to funeral homes, and everything in between.

The internship is unpaid for two or three days a week over three months. We’re very flexible with uni, and you can pick the days you’ll come into work.

We don’t mind how far into your degree you are. If you’re on your first year, we’re happy to teach you from the ground up. If you’re in your final year, we look forward to seeing what you can bring to the team.

It’s worth noting that we know genius when we see one — and if that’s the case, we might get you a full-time position. In fact, almost half of our current staff came through this program, with us building a full-time job for the best.

We’re happy to give letters of reference for those wanting to use their internship for a university course.

No, we don’t need someone around just to get us coffee. We’re not interested in that.

If we like you for the role, you will need to learn our tools, then work closely with our Digital team to deploy them. We’re a small business — that means, you’ll also get the chance to see what the other teams do, so you’ll come out with a really broad view of how the industry works.

At the end of your 3-month internship,

  • You will have been trained in a number of relevant software
  • You can be HubSpot- and Google Analytics-certified
  • You will have broad experience in inbound marketing, client management, digital tools, etc.

We’re looking for an individual who

  • Has the ability to take initiative and solve problems — sometimes we like to give you a task and leave it up to you to figure out how to get it done
  • Has writing and proofreading skills
  • Is tech savvy — having actual knowledge on the technical aspect is a big bonus (e.g. using WordPress)
  • Has an eye for detail and can produce good quality work

And most importantly, we’re looking for someone who has the right attitude and great work ethics. As a small team, we all have to jump in to lend a hand where needed, even if that’s outside our comfort zone.

So be confident, be interested, and be willing to work hard — but leave any ego at the doorstep.

Only successful applicants will be contacted.
