Campaign Objectives

As a large Australia-wide organisation, AGL has a lot of internal messages that need to be sent out and absorbed by their staff. And a lot of these aren’t sexy –they are very important but functional messages, such as information on how to report hazards, ergonomics best practice and updates to the workplace structure. We were requested to find a way to communicate these messages in an engaging way.

Strategic Insight

Rules and regulations around safety and protocol are important for a big company, but getting the message through can be difficult as employees tend to switch off when faced with doctrine.

Storytelling helps deliver key messages in an effective, relatable way to employees –especially when they feature absurd scenarios in familiar, real life environments, like the offices they work in every day.

Implementation

We created Drawn Together, a nation-wide campaign across all sites and offices, which featured a series of educational videos and digital communications for staff training and inductions.

We sectioned key messages into short animated videos, ‘acted’ out in the AGL office environment by a mix of unexpected characters from pop culture and history.

By always updating the theme, historical context and characters we ensured interest in the series and transformed some pretty dry topics into something worth watching.
